LOFT Ally Award Recipient: Suzanne Iasenza
Suzanne Iasenza, PhD is on the faculties of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy
and Psychoanalysis (ICP) and the Adelphi University Derner Institute’s Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She also teaches in the workshop series at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She is co-editor of the books Lesbians and Psychoanalysis: Revolutions in Theory and Practice (1995) and Lesbians, Feminism, and Psychoanalysis: The Second Wave (2004) and maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and sex therapy in New York City. Her most recent paper, “What’s Queer About Sex: Expanding Sexual Frames in Theory and Practice” (2010) was published in the journal Family Process.
Suzanne and her partner Barbara Ryan are current members, contributors and supporters of The LOFT: LGBT Community Services Center and Suzanne was a participant of the Executive Director Search Committee and the decision to hire the current LOFT ED Judy Troilo in November of 2014. She is presently organizing and facilitating the revival of The LOFT Families group (F.K.A. LOFT Kids), a program designed to bring together LGBT parents and their children for social activities.
Dr. Iasenza served on the CLAGS Board (Center for Lesbian & Gay Studies) in the late 90′s and was instrumental in integrating LGBT studies on all the CUNY campuses. She served as Faculty Advisor to the LGBT student group at John Jay College of Criminal Justice whose function was to educate police & corrections officers and other CJ professionals about the needs of the LGBT community.
More recently Suzanne has been a member of the Annual Gala host committees of the Family Equality Council and the NYC LGBT Center’s Women’s Event.

Locally, on July 31st, 2015 the White Plains TD Bank branch selected The LOFT as the charity recipient of their Bring Change fundraising campaign.
TD bank invited the community to help raise donations for The LOFT’s senior outreach initiative. In addition to all donations, TD Bank matched up to $2,000 of the change counted at their Penny Arcade to help keep The LOFT working to make a better community.
